On this module, you’ll explore laws about the creation, distribution and use of fashion design - including ‘fakes’.

You’ll investigate the fashion industry through its ability to innovate - especially through new designs, shapes, colours and textiles. Your approach will be based on international and comparative sources.

Module learning outcomes

  • Identify the legal interests of stakeholders operating in the fashion industry
  • Critically assess how different forms of regulation are capable of protecting and encouraging the production of fashion design
  • Use relevant authorities (statutes, case-laws, reports, academic articles etc.) to evaluate factual scenarios and policy changes in the regulation of the fashion industry
  • Critically engage in a comparative reflection of current regulatory reforms affecting the fashion industry
