Key dates for Clearing 2024

Clearing 2024 through UCAS opens on 5 July, but you can apply to Sussex through Clearing from 1 July. See the key dates to look out for:

  • International Baccalaureate requirements: These will be published on our Clearing course listings on Monday 1 of July.
  • International Baccalaureate results: These will be issued at 2pm UK time on Friday 5 July 2024.
  • BTEC and other vocational courses: You can apply in Clearing as soon as you have all your results.
  • A-level results: These will be issued on Thursday 15 August 2024. We will publish our A-level requirements for Clearing in advance. Sign up for our Clearing updates to be the first to hear when.
  • For any other European and international qualifications: you can apply in Clearing as soon as you have all your results. 

Guaranteed housing for Clearing applicants

Our guarantee of university-managed accommodation for Clearing applicants provides peace of mind when you secure your place at Sussex in Clearing.

We will have at least 350 accommodation spaces available for Clearing applicants, allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

As soon as we have your results and you accept your Clearing offer from Sussex, you will receive a link to apply for accommodation. Our housing team will then allocate you a room. The sooner you accept your offer, the more likely you will secure guaranteed accommodation.

As space is allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, should you miss out on one of our university-managed rooms, our housing team will provide support and guidance to help you secure accommodation in Brighton's extensive private rental sector.

Before you choose a university, check it has everything a university should have:
