On this module, you’ll be introduced to technical production skills in the arts and learn how to start applying these skills through your own creative ideas.

Through introductory lectures and practical workshops aimed at beginners, you’ll explore the basics of a range of technical production modes across the arts, such as:

  • lighting and sound for theatre
  • scenographic and costume design
  • film editing
  • media content creation
  • stage/project management.

The module is suitable for students who are brand new to technical production and those who are seeking to develop their skill sets. You’ll be assessed through a portfolio where you’ll devise a design concept or technical plan for an arts project.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of how different non-verbal theatrical and production design signifiers can be combined effectively.
