Ethical Review System

The University has now rolled out the new ethical review system Ethics RM, which has replaced the use of Sussex Direct.

Supervisors

Please be aware that your supervisor may need to login to Infonetica Apply (Ethics RM) for the first time, before you are able to add them to your application.

Ethical Review Process

  • Low risk applications will be reviewed at School level by your Supervisor and School Research Ethics Officer (SREO). Applications will first be authorised your Supervisor or Course Convenor, and then reviewed by your school's SREO. All applications should be submitted on
  • High-risk applications will be reviewed by your Supervisor and the SREO for your school, plus one F-REC member.
  • Applications from BSMS staff and students conducting non-clinical health related research involving healthy volunteers should be submitted to
